Welcome to Part 5 of our homemade camping trailer build series! In this episode, we continue building our custom homemade camping trailer by installing the exterior sheathing and preparing the trailer body for the next stages of finishing and electrical work.
We begin by cutting the exterior sheathing panels to size before gluing and screwing them securely to the frame of our homemade camping trailer. After installation, we use a router to trim the edges for a smooth and professional-looking finish. We also apply wood putty to all joints and screw heads to prepare the trailer exterior for sanding, fiberglassing, epoxy coating, and paint.
Next, we cut openings for the camper door, window, shore power connection, and an outdoor electrical outlet, helping move our homemade camping trailer closer to becoming fully functional for future camping trips.
