Welcome back to our home made camper build series! In Part 6, we make major progress on our home made camper by completing the exterior sheathing, installing insulation throughout the camper body, and preparing the exterior for fiberglass and epoxy coating.
This stage of the build is an important milestone as our home made camper begins to look and function more like a finished camping trailer. We finish securing the remaining exterior sheathing, cut openings for the roof-mounted vent fan and air conditioner, and install insulation to improve comfort and efficiency for future camping trips.
To prepare the exterior for the next phase, we carefully fill seams, joints, screw heads, and imperfections with wood putty, creating a smooth surface that will be ready for fiberglass reinforcement and epoxy coating.
